The original Ford Mustang was introduced in Queens, New York at the

Worlds Fair. The car was based on the Ford Falcon and had the same chassis,

but boosted all new styling. The standard engine was the 170 cubic inch inline

six cylinder engine, but you could order the 260 two barrel carb V8 or the more powerful

289 4 barrel V8. The car's chisp styling was an instant success.
